Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday for those of you who are not Catholic and may not know what that means I found this online.

In the Roman Catholic Church, Lent officially ends at sundown on 9 April (Holy Thursday), with the beginning of the mass of the Lord’s Supper. Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a season for reflection and taking stock. Lent originated in the very earliest days of the Church as a preparatory time for Easter, when the faithful rededicated themselves and when converts were instructed in the faith and prepared for baptism. By observing the forty days of Lent, the individual Christian imitates Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days. All churches that have a continuous history extending before AD 1500 observe Lent. The ancient church that wrote, collected, canonized, and propagated the New Testament also observed Lent, believing it to be a commandment from the apostles.
Now that you have been refreshed on the meaning of Lent we can each take some time to reflect on what Our Lord did for each one of us, which we should do everyday by spending time in God's Word. The Word of God makes known The Lord Jesus Christ; Who declares to the Believer our Heavenly Father that we might know Him. God has revealed Himself not according to religious viewpoints but reveals Himself by the written Word. The Light that illuminates our path makes it possible for all who are willing to walk with Him and to see His clear instructions to live victorious lives in Christian Faith and Practice.
Okay, I guess I'll get back to the things at home, Dad had communion this morning and got to tell Theresa the he went to church on Sunday. She asked him how it was and what Priest was there , he could tell her so she asked if he was a black man and he said no he didn't look black to me (David said yes he was) . He then proceeded to tell her that the man next to him was a year older than him and that he looked younger. She said "oh I see you went to visit" and we all had a good laugh. She will be back tomorrow for Ash Wednesday.
Well Dad's luck hasn't been very good on his scratchers the last couple of days, so we are down to getting his 1 free ticket and $5.oo. Keep us all in your prayers as we do you....
In Christ,
JoAn
