Dr Gonzales (Primary Care), says that my Dad is doing better and that the pneumonia is clearing up, he said as long as Dr Gupta (Pulmonary) agrees he would be able to go home today on oral antibiotics. We will see Dr Gupta around 1:00pm to see what he says. We will also be meeting with Hospice as his heart is enlarged and his lung capicity has diminished quite rapidly and we know they won't be getting better. As you may know Hospice is palliative care, which keeps him comfortable until one or the other organs stop working. He will be able to go on doing his ADL as he can manage since just getting out of bed makes him winded. He will be so glad to be home and get back to his schedule, I will also be making him an eye doctor appointment to see if they can help him with the palsy of the eye muscle
(An extraocular muscle palsy may resolve on its own with time; however, this may not occur. If the palsy and resultant diplopia are permanent, a prismatic correction may be incorporate into spectacle lenses to merge the double images into a single image. Some people prefer simply to keep one eye patched to take away their double vision. In some cases, muscle surgery is another option. However, it should not be performed for at least six months after the onset of diplopia, since the effects of the palsy may resolve spontaneously over a few weeks or months.) We all know that he is ready to go be with the Lord and Mom (personally thought it would be sooner than this), we just need to trust in what the Lord has planned and give him all the love and care that we can. In any case when he gets home we will be letting him do as much as he thinks he can and if he wishes not to than we will do it for him. Please continue to keep us all in prayer as we covet them.
Blessings and love to you all,
JoAn
