As I said before we went to Long Beach to the Cemetery for Mother's Day........as we get off the freeway I feel a strange jerk in the van, but kept on driving. We sat at a few lights and then as we were taking off from the 3rd light all of a sudden My van has no gas, I thought I can't be out of gas the light just barely went on at the off ramp and I usually have 30 miles after that to get gas. So I coast to the side of the road and it dies, I try to start it and nope it won't so I call Ina cause she is already at the cemetery and she sends Michael over to get us. We get to the cemetery which by the way is PACKED! and put the flowers Jim and Lou brought (see card below), the ones Rosie and Family gave us to take and the the ones we go, along with the yellow roses from Roni and family. We visit with Mom, with Cory and Patty who by the way is about ready to deliver baby Cordova at any minute ,Ina, Aimee, Sam, Michael, Audrey, Dolly, Me, Joseph and Stacey, which was very nice and a very beautiful day.
Then Ina and Family take Dad and Dolly over to there house and Joe, Stacey and I go to lunch, after lunch which was very yummy (Outback Steak House) and a brownie overload for dessert we shared. We went to Target to get a gas can (I think I might just be out of gas), went and got gas and then back to the van which was parked at Cherry/Curry in Long Beach (not the best of neighborhoods). Joe puts in the gas and it doesn't start! Joe called Stacey's brother Jeff who is a mechanic for U-Haul to come and check it out (another Angel). He takes a look at it with a screw driver in his hand and I couldn't really see what he did but "boom" he says the fuel pump isn't working. Great.... I had just had the water pump the alternator the brakes and so many more things done to this vehicle to mention already done.
So I call AAA and ask them how many miles do I have for towing he says 7 and after that $9 a mile............(deep breath),I tell him I'll call him back and then call Jimmy he says if James were down there (he lives in Long Beach) I could call him because he has AAA plus and he has 200 miles free towing But, he's in Valle Vista neat San Jacinto visiting for Mother's day....Arggh!
So I tell Joe just take me to Ina's I'll figure something out from there, Ina says well Michael can take you home because he just so happens to have to work in Redlands (Praise God), so he'll just stay at your house and go from there. On the way home I called James who was home by now and ask him if he could do me the favor of going over to the the van and having it towed to me, he says sure no problem! =] (what an Angel) I told him I left the keys with Sam and he will bring them to you. So him and Sam (both Angels) meet at my van and wait for the tow truck driver for an hour (Thank you you two) and then calls me and tells me it is on the way.
WOO HOO! what life savers everybody worked together like a well oiled machine from start to finish.
From the time that I called Ina to the time my van arrived home it was like a well planned relay race.......what a great family we have!!!!!
I can't thank you all enough for your help, patience and love what a true testimony to the Holy Spirit working in all of you, I am truly truly grateful and very very blessed. Thank you Lord Jesus for all that you do!
Now back to the card that Lou and Jim brought over with the flowers, it was for all of the McLean children so here it is........
